ADELAIDE, the South Australian capital city has ben named by Lonely Planet as one of the Top 10 places to visit next year. AirAsia X has since Oct 30 introduced direct flights to that city.

It marks the start of more affordable international travel for South Australians and greater connectivity for Asians to fly between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Adelaide, Australia.

It has so many attractions and great things to do as Adelaide is home to great food and wine, vibrant festivals and wildlife adventures. Any chance to visit can be considered a trip of a lifetime.

Well, guess what you have a chance to experience such a trip thanks to the AirAsia X Takeover Challenge. The “Takeover Challenge” campaign, is part of the airline’s social media campaign in promoting its newly launched destination.

The contest is a self-generated contest where finalists are selected by vote cast on videos submitted by contestants on the YouTube brand channel of AirAsia X Takeover (www.youtube.com/aaxtakeover). The finalists will then be flown to compete in a specific challenge in Adelaide, Australia.

Azran Osman Rani, AirAsia X CEO said, that the AirAsia X Takeover Challenge is part of our marketing campaign initiative within the digital space, leveraging on the YouTube social media platform. “This initiative would provide YouTube junkies to be creative with their own “Takeover” videos which would offer them a chance to participate in one of the challenges in reality.”

“Social media is all about engaging with the public and is an effective tool in enhancing awareness of our brand, products and services. We will constantly invest our time and efforts in social media as it’s currently the best channel in engaging the masses, creating a viral effect globally,” concluded Azran.

It is a joint effort between the airline and South Australian Tourism Commission.
