2013 MasterCard Global Destination Cities 2013 Index released in Dubai , May 29 2013 saw Kuala Lumpur in better potion compared to 2012 and 2011's index. While, Bangkok became the First Cities in Asian rank top since the index was launched in 2010.

Air Travel Connectivity placed Kuala Lumpur at rank #6 in term of Increase in Index Valur of Air Travel Connectivity from 2009 to 2013 with 8.4% increase. ;
The MasterCard Index of Global Destination Cities ranks cities in terms of the number of their total international visitor arrivals and the cross-border spending by these same visitors in the destination cities, and gives visitor and passenger growth forecasts for 2013.
